The third eye is a mystical and esoteric concept referring to a speculative invisible eye which provides perception beyond ordinary sight. The third eye is sometimes associated with the pineal gland, which has been theorized to provide some people access to higher consciousness.

In Ayurvedic philosophy, the third eye is represented by the Ajna chakra. In Ancient Egypt, the symbol of the third eye was worn as a protective amulet known as the Eye of Horus.
